S. David and Co. was formed in 1977 as “The Spencer Company” primarily working in the residential area.
It soon became apparent that the passion of the Company was in the commercial field which is when S. David was officially incorporated (1980) and the logo and the Company’s identity were born.
We began working for many of our present day clients as the transition from one name to the other occurred. (see our CLIENT LIST)
The mid 1980’s brought “business plans” and “organizational structure” to the Company and Industrial projects. We also became active in many trade and civic organizations

In 1990 we became a “State Certified Drug Free Work Place”, as we continued to evolve from a “group of painters” to a Florida based Corporation doing business in painting and paint related services.
The 1990’s brought state licenses (Mississippi, Louisiana and Arizona to name a few) and the organizational structure we have today. I’d better not forget it also brought computers, estimating packages, cell phones and a whole new way to work smarter and faster.
Now into the 21st Century we realize that there is still much to learn.
That our training must not only help prepare our people for the future; but to be on the same paths as our clients so we can help them prepare for their future as well.

You ask others in the industry (see clients), you look for a Company history (see about), you want information on the Company by requesting a prequalification form and/or want to know the kind of work the Company is capable of providing (see Projects).
You want to know that the Company is capable of meeting your insurance requirements to include providing a surety bond.

Property Managers
Property Managers have unique needs when being served by the construction community. Those needs can change with the property, it’s owner and the particular service needed.
At S. David we can tailor what we do to what you need.
If you need unit pricing for painting or wall covering, to use in figuring a new or renewal lease, we can have those numbers available for a variety of surfaces and levels of quality.
If you need an all inclusive hourly rate for a qualified painter and his tools to do some remedial work or repaint some common areas, those numbers can be on file and they can reflect weekend or night work if required.
If a lump sum quote is needed for any reason, one of our Project Managers/Estimators can provide those in a timely manner.
Most of our employees have worked at the Jacksonville International Airport, schools with children in class, secured military facilities and have passed strict security clearance requirements.
Many Property Managers may have one or all of those pricing needs.

The Difference
With annual mandatory training for all field employees in areas of safety, human resource issues, respiratory training and many other subjects important to our work, we aim to stay ahead of the learning curve.
Many of our new hires and “still learning” painters are involved in task training.
Our Production Manager is an Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer.
When we properly manage our teams and our team leaders properly manage their teams, when we work safely and adhere to the schedule, then “Satisfying our clients 100% of the time” can become a reality 100% of the time.
